Senior Systems Test Engineer

 

Location:  Remote (must be based out of US -New Orleans preferred) 

 

Travel:  Less than 15% 

 

Manages Others: No 

 

Education:  BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)

 

Experience: 5+ years of experience in a team testing hardware AI features and systems solutions

 

The Opportunity:   

 

The Systems Test Engineer plays critical role in planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion across all product lines dealing with testing of firmware quality and development for our various hardware products along with system level features of the product. This person partners with a wide-range of internal and external stakeholders while managing several projects simultaneously. Much of this work is bridging the communication between product development and vendor/supplier on firmware updates/changes and testing on products.

 

The successful candidate possesses strong technical skills in System Test Development, IoT system integration, and AI based solutions, while being an exceptional communicator.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with firmware and systems development team and understand the new scope of the testing requirements to verify comprehensive functionality of the system and maintain up to date test scripts and documentation
  • Understand the final system level features and test/verify its efficiency such as camera images, driver monitoring features, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features, 360 features, and how the overall features align to customer requirements
  • Own the field deployment and interface with the operations team as they have issues and verify what is system level vs field issues driving to corrective action
  • Work with our manufacturing partners to verify their test/validation of the system meets BP requirements and quality of the product is exceptional
  • Drive certifications of the system as needed with partners providing system level configurations and requirements
  • Generate detailed test reports and contribute to the development of the test framework
  • Participate with a broad team of Hardware/IoT/Firmware teams with enthusiasm to grow, learn, and contribute

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in system test engineering with experience developing and testing IoT with strong documentation skills
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)   
  • Experience with GPIO and sensor integration at hardware/firmware/software level (preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux, command line tools, and version control systems (SQL and Python are a plus)
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills with ability to manage detailed test plans and improving efficiency in engineering phase

The US salary range for this position is provided in this posting. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
