Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related analytical field. An MBA or advanced degree, along with professional certifications (CFA, CPA, CMA), is highly preferred.

Experience: 7+ years in a finance role, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility, strong analytical foundation and an understanding of financial processes. Experience managing teams (direct or indirect) is preferred.

 

The opportunity:

We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team at BusPatrol. With 7+ years of experience, the ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, financial acumen, and leadership expertise to support the company’s rapid growth. You will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and reporting, financial models, and executive / board reporting, providing data-driven insights to senior leadership. This high-visibility role will focus on optimizing financial systems, implementing scalable financial initiatives, and ensuring that the finance function supports BusPatrol’s ambitious expansion. Experience with financial planning systems (CPM/EPM tools) like Planful, Anaplan, or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals
  • Develop and refine long-range financial models, including sensitivity analyses and scenario planning.
  • Partner with the Financial Systems team to streamline planning workflows and optimize the use of CPM tools for annual and quarterly planning cycles.
  • Support senior leadership (VP Finance and CFO) on strategic financing and liquidity management initiatives.

 

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Spearhead monthly reporting efforts, delivering financial insights to the executive leadership team, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to generate customized reports and analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Drive the evolution of comprehensive reporting and analytics within the FP&A team, enhancing the company’s data-driven culture.
  • Assist in the creation and management of headcount planning models.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Analyze and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve financial performance tracking.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies to advance the finance function.

 

Data Management & Governance:

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to data governance standards across all systems.
  • Develop and enforce data quality control procedures, ensuring actionable insights for business partners.
  • Oversee the relevance and consistency of KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a finance or accounting role with extensive exposure to financial systems, planning, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial tools such as Netsuite, Tableau, Hyperion, or similar systems.
  • Proven ability to develop relevant KPIs, financial models, forecasts, and reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience managing teams, with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a service-oriented approach to working with business partners.
  • Desire to share knowledge and experience with a focus on creating shared conscious.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, efficiency, and driving organizational success.
