Overview:

 

BusPatrol is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Community and Government Relations Manager to support our national government relations efforts. In this role, you will help drive engagement with policymakers, stakeholders, and partners to advance our mission of making student transportation safer. You will manage processes and initiatives that help ensure compliance, build relationships, and support policy efforts across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of government relations strategies at the state and national level to advance company initiatives. 
  • Monitor and interpret state and local regulations, providing updates and insights to internal stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate outreach with elected officials, agencies, and advocacy groups to build awareness and support for school bus safety programs. 
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy summaries, and stakeholder updates to inform company leadership. 
  • Support national advocacy campaigns by coordinating meetings, attending events, and fostering positive relationships with key external partners. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, Product, Finance, and Operations teams to align government relations activities with business goals. 
  • Manage workflows with external consultants or contract lobbyists, ensuring deliverables are aligned with company objectives. 
  • Draft clear and compelling materials, such as legislative updates, position statements, and educational resources. 

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or related field. 
  • Familiarity with state and local legislative processes; experience working with policymakers and public officials preferred. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to simplify complex policy issues. 
  • Comfortable with networking, stakeholder engagement, and attending advocacy functions. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience working on education-related or public safety policy is a plus.

The US salary range for this position is provided in this posting. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
